A new centre for wounded servicemen and women will be officially opened in Shropshire today.

The Battle Back Centre is funded by the Royal British Legion and will provide sporting activities to help the recovery of wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.

Beth Tweddle MBE, Olympic Bronze Medalist Gymnast 2012, will be among those opening the new centre.

Visitors to the centre will be able to use the centre to take part in many sports, including wheelchair basketball, archery, climbing and clay shooting.

The Royal British Legion has committed £27 million to establish and operate the centre.
