Dry but grey and cloudy today
by Emma Jesson
A very strong area of high pressure to the south of the UK is in charge this week also. It will fill to 1040mb later in the week. It's a cloudy high though, so it won't be gloriously sunny, but it won't be too cold either. Lots of cloud trapped under that high, so we can welcome back our old chum 'anticyclonic gloom'.
A warm front from the west today will bring increasing amounts of cloud to all parts. It will be thick enough to give odd spits which could turn heavier over higher ground. Brightness will be at a premium, maybe over the Welsh Marches if anywhere, highs around 10c, 50f. Just a cloudy old day with a moist feel.
Clearer slots developing this evening, but still plenty of cloud filling in again overnight. Brisk winds tonight so not too much mist and much milder than last night 8 or 9c... not half as chilly as last night!
