It's a generally cloudy and gloomy start to Friday. Not quite as bad as yesterday morning though.
Remaining dull and cloudy all day. Mainly dry, dull and feeling cold.
Continuing to cool off through the next few days as low pressure pushes eastwards along the south coast, drawing in easterly winds, and swapping the stagnant murky air which is over us at the moment for clearer, colder climes.
We have a weather alert for 5-10cm snow to fall in for Hereford, Worcester,Gloucestershire & Warwickshire on Saturday. Mainly above 200m. This could give enough of a covering to cause some disruption. Falls will be lighter through the East Midlands. Shropshire should mostly escape. Wintry throughout the remainder of the weekend in places, through into Monday:
There is still much uncertainty about the forecast period ahead of us in terms of wintry weather.
On Saturday we might see some wintry showers in the south of the region. The northernmost extent of an inbound system is uncertain. Dry in the North Midlands.
On Sunday, there may be some snow showers for easternmost counties of the East Midlands. Dry, fine, cold further west. Temps 2c.
On Monday, rain expected which may turn to snow as it hits colder air. Temps 2c.
A very uncertain period after this. Next week generally looks like being cold with wintry weather in the east. Drier and brighter further west.
