Wind is the main issue with our weather today, gusts of 40-50mph are possible in more exposed spots and as result the Met Office has issued a Yellow Alert as the wind could cause some disruption on the roads especially with high sided vehicles. On higher ground expect gusts of 60mph.
We are seeing some good spells of sunshine today, just a few isolated showers. Temperatures reaching 10c.
This evening will be dry with clear spells before another band of rain moves in from the west. You can see on the satellite we have a succession of weather fronts moving through bringing cloud and rain. The first one was the rain overnight last night, the second the rain overnight tonight and the third area of cloud will bring more rain on Friday.
It will remain windy overnight but frost-free as temperatures hold up above freezing.
Tomorrow the rain will clear and we will have a day of sunshine and a few blustery showers, mainly in the north.
That third band of rain will work through overnight on Thursday into Friday potentially bringing an other 15-20mm of rain.
The wind will swing from a south-westerly to a northerly for Saturday making it feel cold once again.
