A weather front of cloud and showers has been clearing away eastwards this morning. Behind it we are expecting drier, brighter conditions for this afternoon. The exception is Lincolnshire where snow showers are being blown in off the North Sea. There is a Yellow Alert in place for this snow, we could see accumulations of 3 cm widely, slightly more in the Lincolnshire Wolds.
Temperatures today will reach 5c but it won't feel like it as the wind is coming in from the arctic, making it feel more like 0c.
Tonight not a great deal changes, it will remain mostly dry we just have those snow showers still bothering Lincolnshire with further accumulations expected. Temperatures will be below freezing -1c/-2c and it will be icy with a widespread frost.
The wind will be lighter tomorrow morning and it will be a bright start for most. The showers will be confined to the east coast giving us a dry morning. It won't feel as cold as it has been due to the lighter wind.
Tomorrow afternoon cloud will increase ahead of the next weather front which will produce a mixture of rain sleet and snow for tomorrow night. This will spread eastwards through tomorrow night.
The weather front will hang around on Friday giving us a cloudy day and the occasional snow flurry.
