Billy Davies is now the favourite to take charge at Nottingham Forest after Alex McLeish walked out earlier this week.
The club have made no comment on the expected return of Davies, just confirming that Rob Kelly will be in charge as caretaker manager for Saturday's clash with Bristol City.
However Davies, who is a favourite with fans having led Forest to the play off's in his previous spell in charge, is believed to have turned down an offer from Blackpool to pursue another 'opportunity'.
If Davies does take the Forest job he'll become the fourth manager in seven months. Since the clubs's new Kuwaiti owners, the Al-Hasawi family took over at the City Ground in July last year they have sacked Steve Cotterill and Sean O'Driscoll and seen Alex McLeish leave after just 40 days in charge.
