Snow warning

A Met Office Yellow Alert has been issued for snow as it creeps eastwards through today. The West Midlands will see snow showers from late morning with the snow becoming heavier this afternoon.

The snow will then spread to the East Midlands. Northern areas will see the most snow especially across the Peak District where around 10cm is quite possible. Elsewhere on lower ground we could see accumulations of 2-4cm. It will be breezy too with blizzard conditions on the hills.

The snow will readily turn to rain this evening and it will begin to turn much milder. From Thursday onwards it will be cloudy, but mostly dry with temperatures around 8c.
