The system which brought wintry showers and accumulations to some parts of the region overnight is still affecting the north of the Central region this morning.

Sleet and snow showers are affecting Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and the Peak District inparticular.

Dry elsewhere this morning with cloud and fog lingering in places until mid-morning.

This afternoon, the front over the north and NE of the region rotates further, so for the northernmost slice of the area, rain, sleet and hill snow.

From Birmingham southwards, sunny spells and scattered showers, mainly of rain.

Tuesday, similar. Rain, sleet and snow showers dropping southwards. A cloudy, wintry mix of weather, temps below freezing overnight.

Wednesday, an east / west split with lots of cloud around. Further east, some snow flurries. To the west, mainly dry.

Thursday, a fairly decent day, dry with some spells of brightness but the wind strengthening and snow possible anywhere on Friday.
