Family and friends gathered today for the funeral of a sixteen year old girl who was stabbed to death on a bus on her way to school in Birmingham.
During a service at Birmingham Cathedral, Christina Edkins was described as "charming, fun-loving, hard-working and caring".
The Very Reverend Catherine Ogle, Dean of Birmingham, said it was "a sad privilege" for the cathedral to be conducting the schoolgirl's funeral.

We extend heartfelt sympathy and prayers to her family and friends.
This death is very hard to bear and we ask all those who mourn the loss of this lovely and bright young woman to join us in prayer today.
Birmingham Cathedral stands in the centre of the city as a symbol of the triumph of peace, hope and love and these are the values that really matter at times like these.
