Icy tonight – looking decent for Easter Weekend

Still some snow blowing around in the strong gusts of wind. Icy stretches expected tonight as lows dip to possibly -5c. Lying snow gives the risk of potential icy stretches. Mostly dry and cloudy.

Staying mainly dry, cloudy and cold with odd wintry flurries over the next few days with high pressure in charge. The high pressure then builds for Good Friday so it should stay dry, with the wind chill becoming less and less of an issue as the week wears on. We might see some sunshine over the Easter weekend, top temperature of 4c by day, but with bitter nights: -2 to -6c.

This morning it looked like snow would be an issue for the south Midlands on Good Friday, but that risk has now diminished from 60 per cent to 20 per cent and is lessening all the time.

Northern France and the extreme south of England are looking likely to see dispruptive snowfall.
