Despite the recent bright, sunny weather the wintry temperatures are here to stay for the short term. As winds increase in strength this week a marked wind chill will develop and there may be a few light snow flurries for eastern counties from Wednesday.
The bank holiday weekend will end on a dry, relatively bright note. A cold day. Hazy sunshine for the midlands with clearing skies and a widespread frost overnight into Tuesday.
The best of any bright or sunny weather will be for the west midlands as the week progresses. Winds will increase lending a much colder feel to the weather. There may be a few light snow flurries for Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire from Wednesday night.
