Leicester Ladies finished the Investec Women’s Hockey League at the top of the Premier Division table after beating Slough 4-1. The victory means Leicester will play in Europe next season.

With Leicesters Team GB stars Hannah Macleod and Anne Panter watching on from the sidelines, Slough denied Leicester the lead until the 27th minute when Julia Karwatzky scored from a penalty corner. Slough hit back on 53 minutes through Amy Sheehan, only for Karwatzky to give Leicester the lead again two minutes later.

Another olympic medal winner, Nicola White, had some game time for Leicester as Sandy Yeates bagged a third goal. Hannah Smith then finished off the win with a fourth on 68 minutes.

Like Rugby Union, the season moves into play-offs where Leicester will face fourth-placed Surbiton in the first semi final on April 20 at Reading’s Hockey's Sonning Lane ground.
