A 10-year-old Black Country schoolboy was crowned king for a day at Dudley Castle, after his dream came true with the help of hospital staff.
Joshua Parker, from Sedgley, revealed his request following an appendix operation at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley.

Joshua told us he'd like to be king of a castle so I approached staff at Dudley Zoo and Castle and they went out of their way to make his dream come true.
The young king arrived at the castle in the royal carriage on the land train before making his way to the courtyard for the coronation ceremony and to take his oaths.
Following the service, Joshua – a pupil at The Straits School in Sedgley, joined a bird of prey display for a true royal medieval sport.
King Joshua then had the chance to say hello to his royal subjects before touring the site and meeting his favourite species.

"I had an amazing day, it was just awesome. I never expected anything like it and I couldn't believe it when I sat on a throne in the courtyard and got to wear a cloak and crown. I can't wait to tell my friends about it."
