Today the rain continues in the north and west Midlands, the risk of wintriness over the Peak District. Cloud and rain pulls NE'wards through the day and skies brighten from the SW. It will therefore take time for the north to brighten. Even by 9 or 10am it will still be pretty cloudy everywhere.
During this afternoon, bright spells develop, along with scattered showers. It will be breezy, but at 13c an improvement on yesterday. generally fewer showers and less windy.
Tonight, the potential for a local grass frost.
Thursday, low pressure still dominates, winds much lighter so any showers will be slower moving but there'll be more sun between the showers.
On Friday the wind becomes more E/NE'erly. Sunny spells and showers.
Saturday, lots of uncertainty. More persistent rain is expected to push in from the E/SE. Turning wet and windy with potential gales over hills.
