That's the outlook for the next couple of days. Low Pressure is to blame as it tracks towards us over the next 48 hours it will bring showers and longer spells of rain. As if that wasn't bad enough it will also pull in a cold wind and much cooler air from the North!
Today is more promising with sunny spells this afternoon. There are a few showers coming in off the North Sea for Lincolnshire and the wind is picking up too, but generally it's not feeling too bad with highs of 16c.
Tonight a scattering of showers is possible, they could be heavy in the east and we are likely to catch a few in the SW too. Elsewhere expect clearing skies and temperatures lower than of late at 4c. It will certainly feel less muggy and humid. The wind will increase overnight which will stop temperatures dropping too low.
Tomorrow expect showers on and off from the word go. They will be heavy in the afternoon too and it wil be very windy. Temperatures will be a good 4/5 degrees lower than today's values feeling noticeably cooler.
Overnight on Thursday as the low pressure moves closer it will turn wet and windy for the East Midlands which sets the scene for Friday. All of us will see cloudy, wet and windy conditions through the day on Friday, the heaviest of the rain will be in the East Midlands. The south-west has the best chance of staying dry. It could be worse further South in the Chilterns we are forecasting snow!
So far the weekend isn't looking too bad, it will feel cool but we lose the rain and the strong wind and we should enjoy some sunny spells.
