Bank Holiday weather: dry and sunny!

The weekend looks dry with sunny spells, although a bit cool.

As a ridge of high pressure builds, we can expect plenty of sunny spells and much lighter winds.

Temperatures will respond quickly in the sunshine and although still below what we would expect for the time of year, it will feel so much warmer than today with highs of 16c.

The clearing skies on Saturday night mean it will be a chilly one with a isolated frost in rural areas.

Sunday will be dry and bright again and a touch warmer too.

As for Bank Holiday Monday, it will start off dry and sunny before the weather breaks down from the South-West as a weather front brings us more rain and strong winds.

The rain will arrive in the West Midlands on Monday afternoon and later in the day for the East Midlands.

All in all a decent Bank Holiday weekend – just remember to have an extra layer of clothing to hand as it will feel cool if you are out of the sun.

Pollen Levels will climb to moderate in any prolonged sunny spells, but will generally be on the low side as we head through the weekend.
