A grandfather from Derbyshire who collapsed during a game of badminton after his heart stopped beating has been reunited with the two people who saved his life.**
*David Glaze, 58, from Hilton, suffered a cardiac arrest in January while playing at Etwall Leisure Centre. *
***He survived because of a fortunate chain of events. *
Playing on another court was an off-duty paramedic, Kerrie Webster, and she was only there because heavy snow had forced her to change her plans for the night.**
Ms Webster gave Mr Glaze cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while the leisure centre manager Phil Templer fetched a defibrillator which he used to administer an electric shock.
Mr Glaze was taken to hospital and is recovering after treatment. Today he described Ms Webster as his "guardian angel" and said he was lucky to be alive.
