Warm but unstable conditions threaten from the south and east as we head further into this week.
From Tuesday the risk of thundery downpours increases as warm and humid air travels up from France within an area of Low Pressure, feeding north and east of the UK over the next few days.
When and where the showers will occur is quite difficult to predict and the northern and western extent of the showers remains uncertain.
For the midlands we can expect light winds with daily highs reaching the high teens to mid twenties celsius. In any sunny spells it will feel very warm.
Where showers occur they will be slow moving, heavy and potentially torrential with thunder and lightning a possibility.
As we head towards the weekend a brief ridge of High Pressure may settle things down Friday into the first part of Saturday - but unfortunately Low Pressure and weather systems from the Atlantic take charge again over the weekend.
