An unsettled few days forecast....
What a difference a day makes, the weather is changing and sadly just in time for the weekend. Over the past few days our weather has been moving up from the near continent giving us the hot and humid conditions. We hold onto that flow of weather through today before the Atlantic takes charge and throws unsettled conditions our way.
Today a band of showery rain is moving from France northwards directly across the Midlands. So although it still feels very humid with highs of 19c it is rather cloudy and there are some very lively showers. Don't be surprised to see some very heavy downpours and the odd rumble of thunder. The Met Office has issued a Yellow Alert for heavy rain across Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Rutland. These locations are expected to see the heaviest rain with 20mm possible in just an hour.
Tonight the showery rain will ease and it will stay mild with temperatures up in the teens. It will feel muggy again. We will see some misty low cloud developing which will stick with us first thing.
Tomorrow morning Lincolnshire will see some showers which will disappear by 9/10am. The sun will break through the cloud giving us a brighter day than today. Unfortunately the sun is likely to trigger a few downpours virtually anywhere. Again, like today a rumble of thunder and even hail is possible in the heavy showers. It will feel like today with highs of 19c.
If you are heading out tomorrow night take a raincoat as from approximately 11pm we expect a band of wet and windy weather to sweep west to east.
That leaves us with an unsettled Saturday with outbreaks of rain on and off. It will feel cooler too.
Sunday will be an East, West split with heavy showers and hail in the east and sunny spells and showers in the west.
High pressure will build for the start of next week and settle thing down!
