A quieter day for Wednesday

Met Office warnings remain in place for the rest of Tuesday night into the early hours of Wednesday for further thundery showers.

Wednesday itself promises to be a drier day. After early rain for the east midlands conditions should improve, with sunny spells and warm temperatures by afternoon with just isolated showers developing. Highs 26C

Showers become less of a threat Friday into Saturday and the air becomes less humid

Although the risk of showers remains in place for the rest of this week they should become more scattered Friday into Saturday.

We have to get through Wednesday night first though! An area of heavy and potentially thundery rain will push from west to east during the night and linger into the first part of Tuesday. This could again cause disruption.
