It has been an interesting month for weather!
We've been melting in prolonged spells of sunshine, dry conditions and very hot temperatures and cooling off with energetic downpours.
We are still awaiting the full weather stats for July but already it's looking like it will be an interesting read.
Last Tuesday we saw more rain in one hour in Nottingham than we would normally see in the whole month of July!
Everywhere has seen some vicious thunderstorms especially yesterday with band after band of heavy showers, thunder and lightning.
Despite the rain the UK as a whole as already seen more sunshine than usual with 137% of the average sunshine for July, at this point of the month we would normally have seen 90%.
It looks it will end up being one of the top 5 sunniest Julys since records began.
The record of 256 hours in 1955 is unlikely to be beaten.
This is the first month since August 2012 that temperatures have been above average.
