  • Make sure you have got everything: Ensure you have a list of what you need to take, and make sure it is all ready packed before you go. There is nothing worse than getting halfway there and realising you have left your sleeping bag behind.
  • Get set up early and where you want to be: Get there as early as possible so you can get the best camping spot for you. You do not want to have to camp near the toilets or a walking route which will get really boggy in the rain this weekend.
  • Think about security: Spread your belongings into different areas of your tent to make it more difficult for thieves. Do not leave your money all in one place, and beware of pick-pockets. Keep your belongings on you at night too. Forget about your phone as well, as you will soon run out of battery. Only use it if you really need to.
  • Be sociable: You will have the best time if you get talking to your neighbours and look out for each other. Be considerate by clearing up your rubbish and keeping noise down as much as you can.
  • Try not to plan too much ahead: Make sure you know what acts you do not want to miss, and remember where and what time they are on. Other than that, do not keep yourself tied to a plan. Explore the site; you might stumble on something brilliant you never heard before.
