This evening and tonight, it will be generally dry and cloudy through the east of the ITV News Central region.
Cloudier further west with a little rain or drizzle across the Welsh borders. This won't amount to much. Clearer further east, lows 9-11c, 49-52f, the lowest temperatures under any clearer spells in the east.
Tuesday is pretty similar really. A light shower possible in the west, mainly dry in the east all day, best of any brighter spells here.
Drying up in the west throughout Tuesday afternoon. More cloud around than on Monday, but still some bright spells. Best of any sun further east. Tops 17-18c, 64f. Stiff SE'erly breeze blowing.
High pressure keeps most of any frontal activity away until Wednesday when it starts quite wet in the west. The risk of showers all day here. Further east, a dry start and it should stay dry for much of the day. It will be later in the afternoon before we see any wetness. Breezy again.
Thursday: dry start in the east but another front moves in bringing isolated showers in the west.
Heavy rain overnight into Friday.
Friday itself could still see an odd shower. Mainly fine around midday, as it will be on Thursday around midday. Heavy rain possible inbetween, overnight.
A difficult week to pin detail on cloud and precipitation amounts as high pressure over Scandinavia dilutes the effects of a series of weak occluded fronts which try to push in from the west and SW.
High pressure looks set to build in again for the weekend, so quite a pleasant weekend in prospect.
