Thursday starts cloudy, with some breaks further east. Cloudier further west with rain knocking on the door of the extreme west of the region and just fringing in by 9-10am.

Turning wetter during Thursday afternoon, rain pushes further east into the evening.

A yellow 'Be Aware' weather warning is in force with 15-20mm of heavy rain falling in places during the afternoon. 20-30mm rain is not out of the question. Localised flooding is possible.

Temperatures on the mild side of average 17-19c, 66f. Reasonable in spite of the rain.

The heaviest rain pulls away Thursday night, but the east of our region hangs on to a few showers on Friday from the tail end of that front, especially on Friday morning. Cloudier further west, but drier. Things should improve by the afternoon though and the weekend.
