Pottery factory opens up to public for anniversary

One of the region's largest pottery firms opened its factories to the public today.

People had a look around Steelite International in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, to see how they produce half a million plates, cups, saucers and bowls every week.

The company, which also owns Royal Crown Derby, sells pottery around the world. Much of it to hotels, casinos and cruise ships.

Chief Executive, Kevin Oakes, explained the public tours are to celebrate the company's 30th anniversary.
