A parish council which received more than 200 complaints about the headteacher of a Nottinghamshire school has hit out at education officials for not revealing the outcome of her disciplinary hearing.
Margaret Gretton was suspended from her job at Burton Joyce Primary School last November after an ITV Central investigation.
Last week, a panel of governors from the Interim Executive Board (IEB) which runs the school held disciplinary proceedings. Today Nottinghamshire County Council said they had made a decision, but wouldn't say what the decision was.
– Burton Joyce Parish Council statement
We are seriously concerned at this evasive statement issued by the LA on behalf on the I.E.B based on the formal proceedings from last week involving Ms Margaret Gretton. It is difficult to see how keeping such an important decision secret in such a high profile public interest case helps anyone. Yet again we find the unecessary delays in finalising the outcome hugely frustrating and harmful to the important improvement work being done at the school by the new administration.
