Traffic from the north

Traffic approaching from the north of the county on the A46 Fosse Way should turn right at the Hobby Horse Island and use the A46 Leicester Western Bypass and turn left onto the A6 Loughborough Road / Abbey Lane to head into the city centre.

Motorists coming into the city from Syston and Thurmaston

Motorists coming into the city from Syston and Thurmaston on the A607 Newark Road are being advised to turn right at the new Sainsbury's store and use the A563 Watermead Way and A6 Abbey Lane.

Traffic from the east

Traffic approaching from the east should use the A47 Humberstone Road and the A594 Inner Ring Road, instead of using Dysart Way, Belgrave Gate and Belgrave Circle.

Drivers from Humberstone and Hamilton

Drivers heading in from Humberstone and Hamilton are advised to use the A6030 Victoria Road East and A47 Humberstone Road to get to the city centre, rather than using Catherine Street or Dysart Way.

Traffic from the west

Traffic approaching from the west should use the A6 Abbey Lane and A594 Inner Ring Road, avoiding Abbey Park Road and Belgrave Circle.

Traffic from Belgrave

Traffic from Belgrave should use Loughborough Road and Abbey Lane or Catherine Street and Dysart Way to get access to the city centre. Traffic marshals will also be on site near the flyover to redirect motorists.
