Today will start out bright in the East Midlands and cloudy in the West, with some patchy light rain to start the day but gradually getting more persistent and heavier.

Strong winds will push in from the west, forcing that band of rain across the region.

Maximum temperature 9 deg C (48 deg F).

Tomorrow to Wednesday

Tomorrow will bring sunshine and showers, with some hail and thunder possible in the East Midlands.

This will continue into Tuesday for the West Midlands, but it looks drier and brighter in the East with only isolated showers and light winds.

It will get a lot milder across the region on Wednesday, with some patchy drain and wind.
