Council develop mobile web app to report dog mess

Rugby Borough Council has launched a mobile web app for people to report environmental incidents, such as dog-fouling and littering.

The Rugby App allows residents to attach a photo and GPS location information to the reported incident.

What the Rugby App can be used for:

  • Report environmental problems/incidents
  • Find out about council services
  • Contact local councillor
  • Latest council information

The council says it is able to fix or clear up the majority of reported problems within a few hours of it being reported.

Rugby is a relatively clean and well-kept borough, but we still have a problem with a few irresponsible people fly-tipping and not clearing up after their dog.

We recently announced that we will recruit extra staff to enforce environmental crime and issue enforcement notices.

I very much hope that residents will use this app to report incidents of littering and dog-fouling, so that we can keep the borough clean and catch the irresponsible few.

– Cllr Dr Mark Williams, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for sustainable environment,
