Two men robbed & stabbed in Wolverhampton park

Police are investigating after two men were robbed and stabbed in a park in Wolverhampton yesterday (Sunday 23 March).

Officers were called to West Park in the Whitmore Reans area of the city just after 6.20pm, after reports two men had received stab wound after confronting the robbers.

A 34-year-old man was stabbed in the chest and was taken to hospital where his condition is described as stable. A 33-year-old man was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

An area of the park was closed by police whilst the scene was searched by forensic experts.

Inspector Phil Asquith said:

“We are eager to speak to anyone who was in the area of the park yesterday afternoon. This was a particularly vicious attack and we continue to investigate the circumstances which led to the robbery.

“We continue to make enquiries to find the robbers who are described as black and in their late teens. It is believed they were wearing dark clothing.

“We would appeal to anyone who has any information that could aid our investigation to call me or one of my team on 101.”
