A University of Worcester student has said she will change her name by deed poll from Sarah-Louise to Bambi if she raises more than £2500 from her attempt to complete the Apocalypse 100.

The event is an Ultra Marathon around the Shropshire hills and runners have 33 hours to compete the 100 mile challenge.

Sarah Shaw who grew up in Shropshire but now lives in Worcestershire said:

At the moment I am Sarah-Louise but if I reach my target of raising two thousand five hundred pounds I will change it via deed poll to Bambi. My friends call me Bambi anyway, because I fall over a lot, not ideal for a runner I know!

The 21-year-old wanted to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care after the charity helped one of her friends mothers. Sarah-Louise's own mother beat Breast cancer last year.

Apocalypse 100 starts on May 17th and if Sarah-Louise has her way she'll be known as Bambi soon after.
