Racer escapes high speed crash with just cuts and bruises

A racing driver escaped with only cuts and bruises, and a broken cheek bone after a high speed crash during a hillclimb race in Worcestershire.

Wallace Menzies, 42, was taking part in the Shelsley Walsh hillclimb race yesterday, when he lost control, flipped his DJ Firestorm car twice, before hitting the side of a steep hill.

He was taken to hospital, but was discharged just hours later.
