The Birmingham Bears' latest overseas signing for this year's T20 tournament, Shoaib Malik says he is confident he will perform well, following a warm welcome from the club.
He told ITV News Central correspondent Steve Clamp that he wants to get off to a flying start in his first game tomorrow.
The Pakistani all-rounder has signed for seven T20 games. The 32-year-old has a plenty of experience in the format, with a batting average of nearly 37 and a bowling average of just 23.
He was also reminded that 6 June is the 20th anniversary of Brian Lara's historic 501 runs in a match at Edgbaston, but Malik said a Birmingham win would be more important.
