Commuters have been warned to expect delays of up to two hours after a crash on the M6 near Castle Bromwich left a motorcyclist trapped underneath a car.
The accident happened on the southbound carriageway between J6 A38(M) Spaghetti Junction and J5 A452 (Castle Bromwich) at around 7am this morning. There is currently congestion back to J9 A461 (Wednesbury).
West Midlands Ambulance Service said the motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, suffered serious leg injuries and a suspected fractured pelvis.
Two people travelling in other vehicles involved in the collision were taken to hospital with neck pain.
The motorway was closed in both directions to allow the air ambulance to land. The northbound carriageway has since reopened but the southbound carriageway remains closed.
