Appeal issued after attempted car theft

West Mercia Police are appealing for information after a man attempted to steal a car in Kidderminster.

The incident happened about 7pm on Saturday 9 January in Horsefair.

The driver had parked the 2016 white Vauxhall Corsa outside a block of flats to visit a friend opposite Nisa convenience store.

When no one answered the door he returned to the car to call his friend and whilst sat there, he saw a man jogging towards him from the direction of the shop.

The man opened the car door and tried to grab the keys off the victim.

The victim got out of the car and ran off in the direction of Broad Street.

He was initially followed by the offender but the victim later lost sight of him.

The offender is described as white with black spiky hair, around 5ft 11ins tall and was wearing a black coloured coat with dark coloured jeans.

He also had a black coloured tattoo on the left side of his neck which could have been an initial.

Anyone with any information is urged to call police on 101 quoting incident number 545S of 9 January.
