Midlands strikers in the 100 Premier League goals club

As Stoke City's Peter Crouch enters the 100 Premier League goals club, here are the other names on that list who scored some of their goals for clubs in the Midlands.

  • Michael Owen - The England frontman bagged 150 goals in the Premier League during his career, but only 1 of them came for Stoke City. He played for the Potters eight times in the 2012/13 season. Granted, that's not many, but he was such a prolific striker during his career, we'll include him anyway.

  • Les Ferdinand - He scored slightly more for our teams than Owen, with 12 out of his 149 goals during his spell at Leicester in 2003/04.
  • Teddy Sheringham - He scored 14 goals for Nottingham Forest in the early 90s, but only one of them was in the Premier League. His overall total sits at 146.
  • Robbie Keane - The Irishman bagged 126 Premier League goals. 12 were for Coventry City and 3 for Aston Villa.
  • Nicolas Anelka - The well-travelled French striker scored two during a short, controversial spell at West Bromwich Albion. His total was 125.

  • Dwight Yorke - He started his career at Aston Villa, scoring 73 for the club. Only 60 of them count in this list though, as 13 came before the old First Division changed to the Premier League. Later in his career he bagged two for Birmingham City. He scored 123 Premier League goals overall.

  • Emile Heskey - He retired having scored 110 Premier League goals, many of them coming in the Midlands. He netted 33 times for Leicester City, 14 for Birmingham City, and nine for rivals Aston Villa.

  • Darren Bent - The current Derby County striker scored 106 goals when playing in the top flight. 21 of those were for Aston Villa
  • Peter Crouch - The Stoke City frontman hit 100 last night. 37 of those were scored for his current club, but he did score six for Aston Villa earlier in his career.
