A man who sexually assaulted four 'vulnerable' women in their own homes has been jailed for eight years.

Richard Saillet attacked elderly victims in Halesowen, Bromsgrove, Northamptonshire and Botley in Hampshire.

Oxford Crown Court heard how the 64-year-old, from Rugby, even turned violent during one of the attacks.

Saillet targeted the women due to their vulnerability and planned his attacks. He is clearly a calculated, ruthless and dangerous man.

– Jeremy Taylor, for the Crown Prosecution Service

He pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual assault on a female over 16 at an earlier hearing and was handed an eight year prison sentence with a further two years on licence.

This was a very disturbing series of sexual assaults where Richard Saillet has trespassed into the victims’ homes to carry out the offences.

Bringing Saillet to justice has very much been a collaborative effort between four police forces, the National Crime Agency and the Crown Prosecution Service and I would like to thank all of those involved.
