WATCH: Driver hits speeds of 146mph in police chase

A driver who led police on a 146mph chase has been banned from driving for over three years.

Billy Bond hit almost 100mph in 30mph zones when he drove his partner's high-performance Audi RS.

Bond, who is 32, was uninsured and didn't have a licence and covered 12 miles in just four minutes.

Dash cam footage played in court shows police trying to pull Bond over on Chesterfield Road in Brimington, Derby, shortly before 11pm on March 10.

He then accelerated off when police turned on their sirens and blue lights.

You have always been a menace on the roads.

You have numerous convictions for motoring offences and this is just about as bad as it gets without a fatality or serious injury occurring.

The pursuit only came to an end when you lost control and crashed, thankfully, into a field and not into another vehicle or a building.

It would be a complete and utter derivation of my duty not to impose a custodial sentence.

– Judge Peter Cooke

He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence at Derby Crown Court.

Bond, of Inkersall, Derbs, was jailed for 14 months and disqualified from driving for three years and seven months.
