Airline passengers claim their luggage arrived at their destination 24 hours after their flight landed from Birmingham Airport.

58-year-old financial consultant Alan Moran, was among holidaymakers who caught the Ryanair flight FR3091 to Malta yesterday at 7am.

He landed in the capital Valletta with wife Tricia at 11am and they waited for their two suitcases to appear on the carousel.

Yet the couple claim passengers were told all of the passenger luggage had been left behind.

We weren’t the only ones watching the empty conveyor belt go round and round for over an hour. None of the 150 or so passengers’ luggage had made it to Valletta and there was uproar.

There was total confusion and nobody from Ryanair told us what was happening.

After waiting in the airport for more than three hours, it was only on Wednesday morning that Ryanair called the couple at their hotel to say their luggage had arrived.

Ryanair have failed to keep us informed and we don’t know if it will compensate us for the stress and delays.

Ryanair have been asked to comment.
