Drivers travelling into and out of Birmingham will be able to join and leave the M6 at junction 6 this weekend.

Restrictions have been in place as part of major repairs to Spaghetti Junction.

Highways England say junction 6 has been temporarily opened but restrictions and lane closures will be needed again next weekend as the work enters its final stages.

We have been working around the clock to get this work done as quickly as we can. As we have had some good weather in recent days, we no longer require the full weekend closure this weekend which is a welcome boost to motorists.

The final phase of the repair scheme is the really crucial part as we are putting down the waterproofing material. We'd ask motorists to bear with us as we are working tirelessly to get this done as quickly as we can. We'd like to thank motorists for their patience as we complete this vital work.
