Boy taken to hospital after an attack at school

A schoolboy was taken to hospital after he was beaten in an attack by other pupils at school.

Police were called after the 15-year-old victim was attacked at his school in Tamworth on Monday afternoon.

The video, showing the boy being penned into a corner and repeatedly punched and kicked in the head - was watched more than 600,000 times before it was pulled from social media.

The 15-year-old was taken to the Sir Robert Peel Hospital at Mile Oak, near Tamworth, and was treated for minor injuries.

The school confirmed the fight happened on its premises and said Staffordshire Police had been informed.

But the force said none of those involved would be taken to court and no further action will be taken as the victim asked for no charges to be brought.

In accordance with school discipline policy we'll be taking appropriate action with the pupils involved.

We have already planned discussions with all pupils to challenge such anti-social behaviour. As far as the video is concerned, we were made aware it had been uploaded to Facebook within minutes and will be asking the original poster to remove it to protect the student involved.”
