Leicester City have sacked their manager Craig Shakespeare.

The Foxes currently sit in 18th place in the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Shakespeare took over as caretaker boss at the King Power Stadium in February after Claudio Ranieri was sacked before signing a permanent three-year contract in the summer.

The 53-year-old kept the 2015-16 champions in the Premier League last season.

Last night Leicester drew 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion at home. They have won just one league game in eight so far this season.

Upon signing a permanent deal in June, Craig Shakespeare, said:

This is a really exciting opportunity for me to continue along this new path in my career and to continue to work with a club and a group of staff I’ve grown extremely close to. I’m grateful to the owners and the Board of Directors for their continued faith and support. Our preparations for pre-season and the new Premier League campaign have been on-going for some time, but we can now move on with certainty and ensure we are well equipped to compete at the levels now expected of a club like Leicester City.
