Passenger plane declares emergency over Coventry

There have been reports that a passenger plane declared an emergency over Coventry.

The website Flight Radar said the incident involved flight number BM1424 a BMI Regional service from Nuremberg to Birmingham.

The aircraft involved was a twin-engined Embraer ERJ-145.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said they were informed of the emergency being declared, but were not needed to attend.

Flight BM1424 has safely landed at Birmingham Airport, a spokesman for the airport has confirmed.
