Hundreds mourn death of Coventry's oldest funeral director

The Archbishop of Canterbury has said Muriel Grimmett was someone who lived a "good life" as hundreds mourn the funeral director's death.

The funeral director was well known across Coventry and was renowned for being the city's oldest funeral director, who continued working just a few weeks prior to her death at 87-years-old.

The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby who knew Muriel personally, paid tribute to her death:

I think she's someone looking back who one remembers for her commitment not just to the cathedral but to the city and the community and this is someone who lived a life of faith, a good life well.

– Archbishop of Canterbury

Muriel's funeral took place today at Coventry cathedral.
