Driver flees after car smashes into house

A gas engineer had to be called out after a car hit a house Frankley last night.

Police said the driver got out of the car after the incident and ran away.

The car left the road in Frog Mill Road, Frankley, at around 8.40pm and struck a parked car before hitting the front of the property.

No-one was believed to have been injured in the incident.

Footage taken at the scene shows fire crews working to 'make the house safe'.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokeswoman said:

We had a call at 8.40pm. We had a crew from Northfield and Kings Norton attend.

The incident involved one car in collision with a further parked car and a house.

All occupants fled the scene prior to the arrival of the fire services. The affected house was checked over by the structural engineer and declared safe.

A gas engineer had also been on site. The police were in attendance.
