Man attacked by boys on bus and hit on head with axe

Police are investigating after a man was allegedly hit in the head with an axe by a group of boys on a bus.

It happened on the Number 14 bus in Birmingham on Friday 15 December, when the 26-year-old victim became involved in an altercation with a group of five youths on the top deck.

He was struck on the head with the weapon, and had to be taken to hospital by paramedics, where he remains.

Police want anyone with information about the attack, which happened as the bus travelled along Saltley Road in Nechells at about 3.30pm.

Police are currently investigating a serious assault on board the number 14 bus which was travelling along Saltley Road in Nechells, just after 3.30pm on Friday 15 December.

It is believed a group of up to five boys became involved in an altercation with a 26-year-old man on the top deck of the bus.

The man is believed to have been hit on the head with an axe, causing serious injury. The 26-year-old was taken to hospital, where he currently remains.
