Two year old boy killed in collision outside garage

A two-year-old boy has been killed in a collision involving a car on the forecourt outside a garage.

The toddler was declared dead at the scene outside a garage in Minsterley, Shropshire.

The incident happened shortly after 11:00 yesterday morning (21 December).

An air ambulance attended the scene along with an ambulance and three paramedic officers.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman, said:

When crews arrived they found a boy in cardiac arrest being given CPR by members of the public following a collision with a car.

Ambulance staff quickly took over resuscitation efforts on scene and continued advanced life support as a team. Tragically, nothing could be done to save the boy and he was confirmed dead on scene.

West Mercia Police confirm that the 19-month-old boy's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The police are now urging anyone with information to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident reference 245s of 21 December.

The boy's family have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
