Man stabbed in town centre after fight outside nightclub

A man's recovering in hospital after being stabbed when a fight broke out outside a nightclub in Walsall town centre.

Several people were involved in the disorder on Bradford Place at around 5am on Saturday morning (23 December).

Paramedics treated a 20-year old man at the scene before he was taken to hospital.

His injuries are serious but not life threatening. He remains in a stable condition.

Video believed to have been recorded in Walsall town centre overnight showed chaos in the area, with at least two men stripped to the waist exchanging punches.

There were dozens of people in the road and cars had to go straight over the roundabout to pass by.

Forensics are on the scene and police are trawling CCTV in the area.

West Midlands Police said in a statement:

A man was taken to hospital with stab wounds after disorder outside a Walsall nightclub in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 23 Dec).

Police were called to Bradford Place just after 5am where several people were reported to be fighting.

Ambulance colleagues treated the 20-year-old at the scene before he was taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries where he remains in a stable condition.
