16-year-old boy admits manslaughter of dad-of-one from Birmingham

A 16-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of a father-of-one from Birmingham.

The youth who can’t be named for legal reasons, entered a not guilty plea to a murder charge but admitted manslaughter of Troy Paul.

The father-of-one was stabbed on 8th July last year on Twickenham Road in Kingstanding.

Michael Burrows QC, prosecuting at Birmingham Crown Court, said the teenager’s plea was on a written basis.

The defendant accepts that he caused all of the injuries that Troy Paul sustained.

Judge Melbourne Inman QC adjourned sentence until 29th January and remanded the teenager in custody.
