Six-year-old girl dies after being found unresponsive in Nottinghamshire village

A six-year-old girl has died after being found unresponsive in a Nottinghamshire village.

The young girl was found shortly after 3pm on Monday (February 19) on Lincoln Road in Tuxford.

She was rushed to Sheffield Children's Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Flowers have been placed outside the semi-detached house which was being guarded by a marked police car.

Local residents are reported to have witnessed Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance on the scene, as well as a heavy police presence.

Nottinghamshire Police said:

At 15:05 on Monday February 19 2018, a six-year-old girl was found unresponsive.

She was taken to Sheffield Children's Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Inquiries are still ongoing.
